Overview
The player runs, jumps, and attacks through a series of facility and outdoor stages in a side-scrolling format. Combat blends standard platformer hazards with the character's hybrid abilities as he moves through each area. The North American cartridge release came from JVC Musical Industries, Inc., with the Genesis version developed by Core Design.
02
Why it matters
Wolfchild is an early-1990s Genesis platformer that puts a werewolf-themed premise into a straightforward run-and-gun structure. It gives collectors a less common example of a JVC-published Genesis title from 1993.
03
The physical edition
A typical complete North American copy includes the cartridge, the retail box, and any included paper manual. Edition and packaging details can differ by region, so buyers should check the specific copy they are considering.

Playing it today
On original hardware, insert the cartridge and boot normally, expecting a standard Genesis platformer experience. On emulators, load the ROM image in a Genesis emulator, which is the most common and neutral way to try it.
