Overview
Loosely based on the 1992 film, this High Voltage Software title simulates streetball with informal rules, player shoves, and a half-court camera that pans to follow the action. Players pick from fifteen teams, manage a wager to qualify for the Slam City tournament, or jump straight into single-game matches. The cartridge supports up to four players when used with the Jaguar Team Tap adapter.
02
Why it matters
It was the first basketball game released for the Atari Jaguar, anchoring the console's sports lineup in 1995. Its four-player Team Tap support made it one of the few Jaguar titles built specifically for that multiplayer adapter.
03
The physical edition
A typical complete copy includes the game cartridge and instruction manual in a standard retail box, though packaging varies by region and promotional bundle. Some bundles added the Team Tap adapter, so edition contents should be confirmed per copy rather than assumed.
04
Playing it today
The game runs on standard Jaguar hardware with one controller for solo play; the Team Tap adapter is required for four-player matches. Controls are straightforward, but the fast half-court action rewards practice to get comfortable.
