01
Overview
Naughty Dog's debut in the series blends tight third-person gunplay with hand-to-hand platforming across ruins, jungles, and waterways. Drake climbs ledges, swings from vines, and uses cover in firefights, often outmatched by waves of armed opponents. Shorter than later entries in the franchise, the story-driven campaign stays focused on its island setting and central chase.
02
Why it matters
The game established the core movement and combat loop that defined the Uncharted franchise for the PlayStation 3 era. It also pushed the console's motion-sensing features into core gameplay rather than optional extras.
03
The physical edition
A typical complete PS3 copy includes the Blu-ray disc, standard jewel-style case, and printed manual, with regional booklets or inserts varying by market. Edition-specific extras, such as bundle materials or promotional inserts, are separate from the base game and should be identified before purchase.
04
Playing it today
The disc should play on any standard PS3 with a Blu-ray drive and an appropriate regional match. A Sixaxis controller provides the original motion-based aiming and balancing feel, though standard DualShock 3 controllers also work.
