01
Overview
Two years after Among Thieves, Drake and his mentor Sully pursue a lead on Iram of the Pillars, a legendary city in the Rub al Khali desert. Their search draws them into conflict with a secret society led by Sully's former employer, Katherine Marlowe. The campaign pairs set-piece platforming with gunplay and a fast-moving, dialogue-driven story.
02
Why it matters
The game closed the original Uncharted trilogy and pushed the PlayStation 3 hardware to its limits with large, cinematic set pieces. Its direction and voice acting helped establish the template for blockbuster single-player action-adventure titles on consoles.
03
The physical edition
A standard North American copy ships as a Blu-ray disc in a plastic case, usually with a manual or insert. Region-specific special editions added different outer packaging and bonus codes, so contents vary by market.
04
Playing it today
Single-player campaigns still run on a functioning PS3 without online features. Multiplayer servers shut down in 2019, so the experience is now limited to local co-op and campaign play.
