01
Overview
The story picks up after the events of Clannad, following Tomoya as a working adult and Tomoyo as his close friend drifting toward a romantic relationship. Gameplay is a branching visual novel with multiple endings, so players make dialogue choices that steer the plot in different directions. A post-game minigame called Dungeons & Takafumis adds a role-playing interlude after the main story is completed.
02
Why it matters
As a spin-off of one of Key's most recognized titles, it deepens Tomoyo's story with new characters and plotlines rather than simply repeating the original. The portable UMD format made the narrative accessible outside a desktop setup while keeping the full voice cast and soundtrack intact.
03
The physical edition
A complete physical copy typically includes the UMD disc and a slim PSP case, along with an instruction booklet. Regional editions may include different inserts, cover art, or bonus materials, so contents should be confirmed against the specific listing.
04
Playing it today
A PSP or PSP-3000 with a working UMD drive can run the disc directly, and the game runs in Japanese without an English language option. Emulation on modern hardware is also common, though buyers should confirm their preferred method before purchasing physical media.
