01
Overview
Developed by Headstrong Games, the title casts players as two bounty hunters tracking a fugitive through a chain of mutant-infested locations. Its rail-based movement and over-the-top gore lean into a comedic horror tone distinct from the series' earlier arcade entries. The PS3 version later appeared as an Extended Cut with additional stages and PlayStation Move support.
02
Why it matters
It stands as the first mainline House of the Dead game released exclusively for home consoles, expanding the franchise beyond its arcade roots. Its grindhouse aesthetic and cooperative multiplayer mode helped define the series' identity for a new generation of players.
03
The physical edition
A typical complete PS3 copy includes the game disc in a standard PS3 case, along with any printed materials the specific edition shipped. Packaging variations, bonus inserts, and region-specific extras differ by market, so individual copies may vary.
04
Playing it today
The PS3 disc runs natively on original PlayStation 3 hardware, and the game supports standard controller and PlayStation Move input on compatible editions. Cooperative play and the on-rails shooting loop remain accessible to new players without prior series experience.
