Overview

Based on the television series, the game puts you behind the wheel of the General Lee in a chase across Hazzard County. You must catch up to Jeremiah Stinge's car while keeping an eye on the rearview for Boss Hogg, who pursues from behind. The title uses the ColecoVision's Expansion Module #2, which provides the steering wheel and pedal controls needed to play.

02

Why it matters

As a licensed racing game built around the console's driving-controller peripheral, it is one of a small set of ColecoVision titles that required Expansion Module #2. It represents a mid-1980s attempt to bring a popular TV property to the family-console market.

03

The physical edition

A complete copy typically includes the cartridge, the instruction guide, the collector's box, and a box overlay featuring the General Lee and Dukes characters. Some copies also include a map, story booklet, stickers, or other promotional items, though these extras vary by region and print run and are not guaranteed on every edition.

04

Playing it today

Playing it requires a ColecoVision or compatible system plus the Expansion Module #2, which connects to port 1 with a hand controller in port 2. The game supports one or two players and offers four skill levels, making it straightforward to try on original hardware if you already own the peripheral.
