01

Overview

Super Buster Bros. is the 1990 sequel to the arcade hit Buster Bros. In Tour mode, one or two players travel through world-themed stages and shoot vertical harpoons to split bouncing bubbles into smaller pieces. The game also offers a Panic mode that keeps the action contained to a single screen, with monsters, ladders, and destructible glass walls shaping the layout.

02

Why it matters

The title helped define the bubble-splitting mechanic that became the signature of the Buster Bros. series. It also shows how early-1990s arcade shooters were translated into a home format that kept the arcade's table-style, cooperative feel.

03

The physical edition

A complete copy typically includes the cartridge, a box, and a printed manual. Packaging, manuals, and included materials can vary by region, so verify the exact edition you are buying.

04

Playing it today

The game is best experienced on a SNES console with the original cartridge. It supports local multiplayer, so a second controller is useful for co-op play.
