Overview
The player guides a single character up and down ladders on a fixed screen, firing vertical hooks to burst balloons that bounce around the arena. Larger balloons split into smaller ones when hit, and the player must clear every balloon before the timer expires. Power-ups such as a double-shot hook, a ceiling-mounted trap, and a rapid-fire gun drop from popped balloons to help manage increasingly busy stages.
02
Why it matters
Pang brought the 1989 arcade balloon-popping formula to a portable handheld, letting players carry the full fifty-level tour across Game Boy. Its tight timing and one-screen layout made it a straightforward but demanding entry point into the Pang series on a system without a second player.

The physical edition
A typical complete copy includes a Game Boy cartridge, a printed instruction manual, and the original box with title and platform artwork. Regional editions vary in box design, manual language, and labeling, so the specific packaging should be verified for the edition in hand.

Playing it today
The Game Boy version runs natively on original hardware, and several emulators support the cartridge image for modern devices. Gameplay is single-screen and fast-paced, with no save system, so sessions are best taken in short bursts.
