Overview
Two fighters return to their hometown, where a leaked genetic virus has turned residents into violent mutants. Players fight through six areas of mutated and mechanical enemies, ending each stage with a boss. Instead of pick-up weapons, the game offers four elemental spheres that charge screen-filling special attacks.
02
Why it matters
It is an early example of Neo Geo's 16-bit arcade presentation applied to the beat 'em up genre. Its sphere-based power-up system sets it apart from other SNK titles of the era that relied on traditional weapon pickups.
03
The physical edition
A typical complete copy of the Neo Geo cartridge release includes the game cartridge, original box, user manual, and a plastic inner sleeve for the manual. Packaging artwork, labeling, and included accessories vary by region and production run, so no single configuration represents every edition.
04
Playing it today
The cartridge runs on the original Neo Geo AES console, which uses a memory card for saving progress in some titles. The game also appeared in later digital compilations, so a physical console is not the only way to play it.
