Overview
Set on a future Earth dominated by the Iron Fist Corporation, you pilot a 42-foot stolen mech called the Iron Soldier to complete sixteen single-player missions. The game presents polygonal 3D environments with destructible buildings and a range of mountable weapons. It is the first entry in the Iron Soldier series.
02
Why it matters
Iron Soldier is one of the most cited Jaguar titles for its early polygonal 3D presentation and destructible environments. It represented one of the first attempts to bring a mech simulation to the platform.
03
The physical edition
A typical complete copy includes a charcoal or black plastic cartridge, an instruction manual, and a plastic controller overlay. Regional editions may vary in packaging language, distributor markings, or included documentation.
04
Playing it today
The game requires an Atari Jaguar console and a standard controller with the included keypad overlay for full functionality. Cartridges are region-free, so any regional copy will work on NTSC or PAL hardware.
