01

Overview

Players guide Raimon Middle School's struggling soccer club through the Football Frontier tournament by scouting hundreds of recruitable students and winning matches through real-time stylus controls. Each match breaks into command-based duels where player stats, elemental types, and special hissatsu moves determine the outcome. The story follows young goalkeeper Endo Mamoru as he assembles his team with the help of a mysterious transfer student.

02

Why it matters

It established the Inazuma Eleven franchise and its distinctive blend of RPG collecting mechanics with sports gameplay. The series spawned multiple sequels, an anime, manga, and a collectible card game, making the original a foundational entry for fans of the property.

03

The physical edition

A typical complete copy includes the game card, the printed game case, and any included instruction booklet or promotional insert specific to that edition. The 3DS version of this title was distributed in Japan as part of a compilation, so standalone physical releases vary by region and should be verified individually.

04

Playing it today

The game runs on original Nintendo 3DS hardware and is designed for single-player with optional local multiplayer. It requires the stylus for match controls, so ensure the system has a working stylus before attempting to play.
