01

Overview

Players enter a futuristic championship where they build and battle custom robot opponents in holographic arenas. Outside of combat, the game presents an action role-playing structure with character interaction, part upgrades, and tournament progression. Its multiplayer options include two-player online play with voice chat, Multi-Card play, and DS Download Play.

02

Why it matters

It is the first Custom Robo game released in PAL regions and the only one with a full global launch across Japan, North America, Europe, and Australia. As a DS title with both online and local multiplayer, it offers a distinct slice of mid-2000s portable Nintendo multiplayer design.

03

The physical edition

A typical complete physical copy includes the game card, the Nintendo DS box, the printed manual, and any regional inserts or rating labels. Contents and box artwork vary by region and release, so Japanese, North American, European, and Australian editions are not necessarily identical.

04

Playing it today

Single-player and local multiplayer modes work on original Nintendo DS hardware, including Rumble Pak support when played on a DS with a GBA slot. The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service has been discontinued, so online play and voice chat are no longer available through Nintendo's servers.
