Overview

Crash: Mind over Mutant shifts the series from level-based stages to a free-roaming world where NPCs issue missions and point the player toward the next objective. Combat blends platforming with beat-'em-up mechanics, including light and heavy attacks, dodging, and Mojo-based ability upgrades. The PSP version was handled by Virtuos and carries the same core story and gameplay structure as the console releases.

02

Why it matters

It marked the first Crash game published under Activision following its acquisition of Vivendi Games. The free-roaming mission structure stood apart from the rest of the franchise and gave the PSP a mainline Crash title at the height of UMD's library.

03

The physical edition

A typical complete copy includes the UMD disc, a sleeve or slipcase, and a paper instruction booklet. Contents, packaging format, and region markings vary by edition, so check the specific listing before buying.

04

Playing it today

The UMD format requires a PSP-3000 or later model with a working disc drive, which limits practical options. Emulation on a modern device is an alternative if the hardware route is not feasible.
