Overview

Red Alert is a prequel to the original Command & Conquer, following Allied and Soviet campaigns in an alternate history where Einstein prevents WWII but Stalin's forces expand unchecked across Europe. Players build bases, harvest resources, and command armies of infantry, vehicles, and naval units in over twenty-five missions. The PSP adaptation converts the PlayStation port for the handheld screen, with controls adjusted for the gamepad.

02

Why it matters

Red Alert is widely regarded as one of the finest real-time strategy titles of the 1990s, praised for its mission design, soundtrack, and presentation. Its PSP release brought the game to a new generation of players who may not have experienced it on PC or PlayStation.

03

The physical edition

A complete PSP copy of a PS one Classic title typically includes a UMD disc and a small case or sleeve, though exact packaging varies by region and release window. Verify the specific edition's contents, region coding, and any included documentation before approval.

04

Playing it today

The PSP version requires a working UMD drive and compatible firmware, so test the disc before purchase if buying second-hand. Mission structure and controls are faithful to the PlayStation port, though the smaller screen demands closer attention to unit positioning.
