01
Overview
The game presents a number-clued grid where every square must be filled with the correct colour to reveal a hidden picture. Each puzzle is built from several colour layers, so players switch between layers and satisfy the clues for each one in turn. Completing puzzles unlocks further grids and gradually reveals larger themed images.
02
Why it matters
Colour Cross is a notable European release from Rising Star Games that extends a well-known DS puzzle formula into a full-colour presentation. It sits alongside other early-2000s Picross-style titles as a compact, focused brain-teaser for the DS.
03
The physical edition
A typical complete copy includes a Nintendo DS game card in a standard DS clamshell case, plus the instruction booklet and any printed inserts. Packaging, region markings, and included paperwork can vary by region and printing, so the contents of a specific copy should be confirmed separately.
04
Playing it today
The game runs on any original Nintendo DS or DS Lite with a working touchscreen, and also works on DSi or 3DS/2DS systems where DS compatibility is available. A clean, well-functioning stylus makes the tap-based controls considerably easier to handle.
