01

Overview

The baby Boomer crawls across scrolling levels from backyards and woods toward a graveyard, the pearly gates, and the underworld. The player fires the NES Zapper to destroy creatures and obstacles while shooting milk bottles to keep the on-screen milk meter from emptying. Two players can play at once, with one aiming the Zapper and the other moving Boomer with a standard controller.

02

Why it matters

It was the first game released by Color Dreams and one of the few unlicensed Zapper games ever made. Its baby blue cartridge casing was designed to get around Nintendo's lockout chip, making it a notable early example of third-party circumvention.

03

The physical edition

A typical North American copy includes the baby blue cartridge, a Color Dreams instruction manual, and a printed box with cover art. Regional editions and box contents can differ, so confirm the specific edition and contents before purchase.

04

Playing it today

Play it on a physical NES with an NES Zapper for the intended experience, since the Zapper is required for the standard one-player mode. Emulators with a Zapper or pointer mapping can also run the game, but input feel differs from the original light gun.
