01

Overview

You control Aero, a red bat who defends his circus from Edgar Ektor, a disgruntled ex-clown determined to shut it down. Levels are built around specific objectives, such as threading hoops, riding rides, and timing disappearing platforms, rather than simply reaching the end of a stage. Aero fights with a spinning diagonal drill that also serves as a second aerial maneuver, plus a limited supply of star projectiles.

02

Why it matters

Sunsoft used Aero as one of its recognizable mascots during the 16-bit era, giving the character a brief but distinct presence on the system. The goal-based level design and circus set dressing set it apart from the straighter running-and-jumping mascot platformers of the period.

The physical edition

A typical complete copy includes the cartridge, an outer box, and a printed manual; the box and manual artwork and language vary by region. Edition details, such as box art and included inserts, are separate from the game code itself and should be checked against the specific copy being sold.

04

Playing it today

The game runs on standard SNES hardware and is also available through the Nintendo Switch Online service in supported regions. It is a straightforward single-player platformer with no save function, so sessions are best played in one sitting or with frequent restarts.
