Overview
You descend through multi-tiered dungeon mazes, exploring rooms and corridors while managing supplies, weapons, and magical items. Combat is turn-based, with skill levels and a treasure score tracking your progress. The goal is to reach the lowest level and confront the Minotaur guarding the Treasure of Tarmin.
02
Why it matters
It was the second Intellivision game released under the Dungeons & Dragons license, following Cloudy Mountain (1982). The Intellivision version is often cited as one of the more ambitious early console RPGs, with a greater number of dungeon levels and more traditional RPG mechanics than its predecessor.
03
The physical edition
A typical complete copy includes the game cartridge, a printed manual, and a hand-controller overlay, housed in a retail box. Box, manual, and overlay variants have been documented, so edition-specific details vary by region and publisher imprint.
04
Playing it today
The game runs on any Intellivision console; the overlay improves playability by covering the hand-controller keypad. It is a single-player, turn-based experience that rewards careful exploration and resource management.
